BMW X1 in version E84 was produced in the years 2009 – 2015. The following table presents information about batteries that match each of the engines available on the market.
Basic parameters of batteries suitable for BMW X1 (2009-2015):
BMW X1 with a sDrive 18 i engine and Start-Stop system requires the use of an AGM battery. Matching batteries have dimensions 278x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 720 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13.
Owning a BMW X1 with a xDrive 35 i engine and Start-Stop system means there is a need to use more expensive batteries made with AGM technology. Dimensions of matching batteries differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and are 278x175x190 mm, 315x175x190 mm or 317x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 720 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13.
For these engines, no matter if we have a Start-Stop system installed in the car, we should use batteries made in AGM technology. We choose batteries of dimensions: 315x175x190 mm or 317x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 80 Ah of a capacity and 800 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
These diesel engines should work with batteries of dimensions 276x175x190 mm or 278x175x190 mm, which capacity is minimum 71 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB740 of a capacity 74Ah and 680A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Lucas Supreme LS096 of a capacity 78 Ah, having 780A Cold Cranking Amps. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The diesel engines of the BMW X1 listed above have a Start-Stop system, and in this case, this means that we must use batteries produced in AGM technology. Dimensions of matching batteries differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and are 315x175x190 mm or 317x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 80 Ah of a capacity and 800 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13. If you’re still unsure which battery fits your BMW X1 , or if you want to help others in their selection, please send us a photo of your current battery in the comment section at the bottom of the page. You can also send the picture to contact@whatbattery.co.uk (we will place it in the comments to also help other users). Be sure to specify the car model, year, type, as well as the engine capacity and power. We’ll do our best to assist you!
