As you can see, in case of Mazda CX-3, even the basic parameters of the batteries (battery layout, terminal types and base hold-down) are not identical for all engine versions. For this reason, care must be taken to match the battery to a specific engine.
The above versions of the Mazda CX-3 are equipped with a Start-Stop system, and in this case, we should use batteries made with EFB technology. The dimensions of batteries suitable for 2.0 Skyactiv-G 120 FWD (88 kW), 2.0 Skyactiv-G 121 FWD (89 kW) and 2.0 Skyactiv-G 150 AWD (110 kW) engines vary slightly among different manufacturers and are: 230x173x222 mm or 232x173x225 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 60 Ah of a capacity and 520 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All of the above motors have a base hold-down B0.
1.5 Skyactiv-D 105 AWD (77 kW) or 1.5 Skyactiv-D 105 FWD (77 kW) engines in the Mazda CX-3 with Start-Stop system require the use of EFB technology batteries. Dimensions of matching batteries differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and are 230x173x222 mm or 232x173x225 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 60 Ah of a capacity and 520 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All of the above motors have a base hold-down B0.
1.8 Skyactiv-D 115 AWD (85 kW) or 1.8 Skyactiv-D 115 FWD (85 kW) engines in the Mazda CX-3 with Start-Stop system require the use of EFB technology batteries. Dimensions of matching batteries differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and are 261x175x220 mm or 266x175x220 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 68 Ah of a capacity and 670 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All of the above motors have a base hold-down B01. If you’re still unsure which battery fits your Mazda CX-3 , or if you want to help others in their selection, please send us a photo of your current battery in the comment section at the bottom of the page. You can also send the picture to contact@whatbattery.co.uk (we will place it in the comments to also help other users).
