The Exide Excell series is a line of high-quality lead-acid batteries that combine reliability, solid performance, and affordability. These batteries are designed for standard passenger vehicles that do not have exceptionally high energy demands but still require a dependable power source. Excell products offer good resistance to cyclic discharges and feature technology that ensures stable performance over time. This makes them an excellent choice for drivers looking for an optimal balance of quality and price. The Exide Excell EB704 model is a lead-acid battery with a capacity of 70 Ah and a maximum starting current of 540 A. It is a good choice for cars with moderate energy needs, ensuring a reliable start even in challenging weather conditions. Its dimensions are 270 mm in length, 173 mm in width, and 222 mm in height. One important detail is the mounting zone type—Exide EB704 features the B9 designation, which indicates an uncommon mounting system. Unlike the more widely used B13 type, B9 is less frequently seen and requires careful compatibility checks before purchase. In terms of specifications, the Exide Excell EB704 is a well-balanced option. However, users needing a higher capacity and cranking power might consider the Exide Premium EA754 (75 Ah, 630 A), which has the same dimensions and B9 mounting. For those prioritizing a higher starting current, other options are available, but checking dimensions and mounting requirements is essential to avoid installation issues. Overall, the Exide Excell EB704 is a reliable and well-rounded battery, offering strong performance and durability at an attractive price. With a robust design and solid starting power, it is a great choice for many vehicle models, as long as its mounting specifications align with the car’s requirements.

My Kia Rio CRDI battery has a fuse box attached to the positive pole which needs a flat top battery Marked MF54-26GL. The existing battery measures 260X165X200mm. There is room for greater width but height is limited and most of the batteries available are 220 to 225 mm height and may foul the bonnet.
Do you know if the Bosch S4 and Exide Excell EB704 or EA 754 will fit?

Hi,
“The existing battery measures 260X165X200mm.” – Is the height of 200 mm counted with or without the terminal?
