Thanks to the use of EFB technology, the Varta N60 battery offers higher starting performance in low temperatures and is more resistant to discharging, significantly extending its lifespan compared to conventional batteries. EFB technology introduces improvements at the material and design level, thereby enabling better handling of intense charging and discharging cycles, which are common in vehicles with start-stop systems and those abundant in onboard electrical devices. Its capacity is 60 Ah, and the maximum starting current is 640 amperes. The positive pole (+) is located on the right side of the battery, looking from the terminal side. This is the most common layout in the United Kingdom. The mounting zone of this battery is B13. This is the most common mounting method in European cars. The lower mounting bracket is located at the bottom of the battery on every side.

This is the battery I have, but I do not think it is the correct one, so I thought I would check. My vehicle is: Fiat Tipo – diesel 1.3 Multijet (70 kW) – with Start-Stop.
The battery shown in your photo appears to be a Varta E44. This is a strong conventional lead-acid battery, but it is not an EFB or AGM battery. For a Fiat Tipo 1.3 Multijet with Start-Stop, I would normally recommend using a Start-Stop compatible battery, so either EFB or AGM, depending on the original specification of the vehicle.
The Varta N60 shown on this page is an EFB battery with 60 Ah and 640 A, size 242 × 175 × 190 mm, with B13 mounting and positive terminal on the right. This type of battery is much more suitable for a vehicle equipped with Start-Stop than the Varta E44.
The E44 may physically fit and it may start the engine without any obvious problem, but it is not the ideal choice for regular use in a Start-Stop vehicle. A conventional battery may wear out faster because Start-Stop systems place much higher cycling demands on the battery.
Before replacing it, please also check the size of the battery tray in your Fiat Tipo. If the car currently has space for the larger E44 size, a larger Start-Stop compatible EFB battery may also be possible, for example a 70 Ah EFB battery in the same physical size. However, the safest option is to match the original Fiat specification or use a reliable battery catalogue for your exact vehicle version.
