As you can see, in case of Land Rover Freelander, even the basic parameters of the batteries (battery layout, terminal types and base hold-down) are not identical for all engine versions. For this reason, care must be taken to match the battery to a specific engine.
For the Land Rover Freelander with a 2.0 Si4 4×4 gasoline engine, we choose batteries with dimensions of 260x174x224 mm, 261x175x220 mm or 270x173x222 mm, whose capacity exceeds 67 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB705 which capacity is 70 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 540 A. The most powerful battery is Exide Premium EA755 of a capacity 75Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 630 A.
For the Land Rover Freelander with a 3.2 4×4 gasoline engine, we choose batteries with dimensions of 276x175x190 mm or 278x175x190 mm, whose capacity exceeds 71 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB740 which capacity is 74 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 680 A. The most powerful battery is Lucas Supreme LS096 of a capacity 78Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 780 A. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
These diesel engines should work with batteries of dimensions 276x175x190 mm or 278x175x190 mm, which capacity is minimum 71 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB740 of a capacity 74Ah and 680A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Lucas Supreme LS096 of a capacity 78 Ah, having 780A Cold Cranking Amps. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The diesel engines of the Land Rover Freelander listed above have a Start-Stop system, and in this case, this means that we must use batteries produced in AGM technology. Batteries suitable for 2.2 eD4, 2.2 SD4 4×4 and 2.2 TD4 4×4 engines have dimensions of 278x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 720 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13.
