The above three petrol engines of the Subaru Outback, namely 2.5 i ,2.5 i AWD and 3.6 R, will perform best with batteries of at least 57 Ah capacity. We recommend choosing higher-end battery models for cars with a large number of optional extras. The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB604 which capacity is 60 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 390 A. The most powerful battery is Exide Premium EA654 of a capacity 65Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 580 A.

The Subaru Outback with a 2.0 D diesel engine should be compatible with batteries of dimensions 230x173x222 mm or 232x173x225 mm, with a minimum capacity of 57 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB604 of a capacity 60Ah and 390A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Exide Premium EA654 of a capacity 65 Ah, having 580A Cold Cranking Amps.
