As you can see, in case of Toyota Hilux, even the basic parameters of the batteries (battery layout, terminal types and base hold-down) are not identical for all engine versions. For this reason, care must be taken to match the battery to a specific engine.
For the Toyota Hilux 6 with a 2.4 i 4WD gasoline engine, we choose batteries with dimensions of 230x173x222 mm, whose capacity exceeds 57 Ah. All the batteries in the list above have a base hold-down Korean B1.
For Toyota Hilux 6 with 2.7 or 2.7 4WD petrol engines, we use batteries measuring 260x174x224 mm or 270x173x222 mm and with a capacity exceeding 67 Ah (ampere-hours). The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB705 which capacity is 70 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 540 A. The most powerful battery is Exide Premium EA755 of a capacity 75Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 630 A. The base hold-down of the above batteries is B9.
For the Toyota Hilux 6 with 2.5 D-4D or 2.5 D-4D 4WD diesel engines, we recommend batteries sized 260x174x224 mm or 270x173x222 mm, with a minimum capacity of 67 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB704 of a capacity 70Ah and 540A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Exide Premium EA754 of a capacity 75 Ah, having 630A Cold Cranking Amps. The base hold-down of the above batteries is B9.
The three above-mentioned diesel engines, namely 2.4 D, 2.4 D 4WD and 2.4 TD 4WD, should be paired with batteries sized 260x174x224 mm or 270x173x222 mm with a capacity of at least 67 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB705 of a capacity 70Ah and 540A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Exide Premium EA755 of a capacity 75 Ah, having 630A Cold Cranking Amps. The base hold-down of the above batteries is B9.
