For the Skoda Octavia with a 1.2 TSI gasoline engine, we choose batteries with dimensions of 207x175x190 mm, whose capacity exceeds 47 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB500 which capacity is 50 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 450 A. The most powerful battery is Varta Silver Dynamic C30 of a capacity 54Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 530 A. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
For these petrol engines, we recommend batteries with dimensions of 242x175x190 mm and a capacity exceeding 59 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Bosch S4 S40 05 which capacity is 60 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 540 A. The most powerful battery is Lucas Supreme LS027 of a capacity 65Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 640 A. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The Skoda Octavia gasoline engines mentioned above are equipped with a Start-Stop system, and in this case, it means there is a need to use batteries produced using AGM technology. Matching batteries have dimensions 278x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 720 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13.
The Skoda Octavia with a 1.6 TDI diesel engine should be compatible with batteries of dimensions 242x175x190 mm, with a minimum capacity of 59 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Bosch S4 S40 05 of a capacity 60Ah and 540A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Lucas Supreme LS027 of a capacity 65 Ah, having 640A Cold Cranking Amps. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The Skoda Octavia with a 2.0 TDI diesel engine should be compatible with batteries of dimensions 276x175x190 mm or 278x175x190 mm, with a minimum capacity of 71 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Bosch S4 S40 08 of a capacity 74Ah and 680A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Lucas Supreme LS096 of a capacity 78 Ah, having 780A Cold Cranking Amps. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The diesel engines of the Skoda Octavia listed above have a Start-Stop system, and in this case, this means that we must use batteries produced in AGM technology. Matching batteries have dimensions 278x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 720 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13. One response to “Skoda Octavia III (from 2013) – batteries”
OEM batteries for Skoda Octavia III petrol engines with stop-start are EFB rather than AGM. Also (in the EU at least) the size is 242x175x190 – ie Exide EL600 or Varta N60D53. The plate would suit a larger size but the thermal jacket is for the smaller size
