As you can see, in case of Hyundai i30, even the basic parameters of the batteries (battery layout, terminal types and base hold-down) are not identical for all engine versions. For this reason, care must be taken to match the battery to a specific engine.
For these petrol engines, we recommend batteries with dimensions of 207x175x190 mm and a capacity exceeding 47 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Exide Excell EB500 which capacity is 50 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 450 A. The most powerful battery is Bosch S5 S50 02 of a capacity 54Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 530 A. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
For the Hyundai i30 with a 2.0 gasoline engine, we choose batteries with dimensions of 242x175x190 mm, whose capacity exceeds 59 Ah. The weakest of these is the battery Bosch S4 S40 05 which capacity is 60 Ah and Cold Cranking Amps is 540 A. The most powerful battery is Lucas Supreme LS027 of a capacity 65Ah and Cold Cranking Amps: 640 A. All of the above motors have a base hold-down B13.
The Hyundai i30 gasoline engines mentioned above are equipped with a Start-Stop system, and in this case, it means there is a need to use batteries produced using AGM technology. Dimensions of matching batteries differ slightly depending on the manufacturer and are 242x175x190 mm or 243x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 60 Ah of a capacity and 640 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). All the batteries in the list above have a base hold-down B13.
The Hyundai i30 with a 1.6 CRDi diesel engine should be compatible with batteries of dimensions 230x173x222 mm or 232x173x225 mm, with a minimum capacity of 57 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB604 of a capacity 60Ah and 390A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Exide Premium EA654 of a capacity 65 Ah, having 580A Cold Cranking Amps.
The Hyundai i30 with a 2.0 CRDi diesel engine should be compatible with batteries of dimensions 260x174x224 mm, 261x175x220 mm or 270x173x222 mm, with a minimum capacity of 67 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB704 of a capacity 70Ah and 540A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Exide Premium EA754 of a capacity 75 Ah, having 630A Cold Cranking Amps.
Owning a Hyundai i30 with a 1.6 CRDi engine and Start-Stop system means there is a need to use more expensive batteries made with EFB technology. Matching batteries have dimensions 278x175x190 mm. The parameters of these batteries are at least 70 Ah of a capacity and 650 A CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The base hold-down of the above batteries is B13.
